After the wonderful moment of realising difficulties I struggled with had been bridged. Much emotional backlog that has been waiting to get some air has finally been put to rest. Whilst coming down to earth with a bump has been hard, the improved engagement with people and sense of reality has taken the edge off all the difficulties.
The rewards of all this have been extremely personal. The simple realness in things like observing my moving hand have been profound experiences in clarity and appreciation. The poetry written over the last 6 months has changed in style. Beginning in more dark and soul searching voids, they move to more coherent and complete statements.
This is a very satisfying feeling to have progressed through. The next poems I am to write are becoming a little more mysterious to what I can achieve. I have always strived to achieve a marker point I felt but this has now been reached. Where to next?
